The young couple, the owners of this lovely Shingle style residence, came to Mitchell Wall Architecture & Design with discerning tastes and a clear vision for their future home. The light airy feeling of the home is reflective of their contemporary lifestyle– a young, full family, active in the community.
The residence includes 8,000 s.f. on the main level and 3,400 s.f. on the finished lower level. There are also outdoor verandas, porches, patios, and outdoor living rooms. The terrace to the south offers the family a lovely outdoor living area.
The family center is highly functional and beautifully detailed. It includes the main floor laundry room, cubbies for the children, and the mother’s workspace and desk. The kitchen is open and allows for ease of entertaining. The breakfast nook and accompanying banquette serve the family and friends well.
The master suite includes a private sitting room with a fireplace, a private balcony, the bedroom with a fireplace, a gracious master bathroom and separate closets for each owner.
The residence includes two offices: one is in the family center; the other office also has a private office within its public office.
The garage features an outdoor shower for the children and for the dogs. It also features a bike park, with a separate entrance, so that the children’s bikes don’t scratch the cars, and also for safety.
One of the many highlights of this lovely, transitional residence is the gracious double staircase, with attendant millwork.
